Welcome To West High Music Supporters!

♪      Memorial Day parade-Monday, May 25. Students should be at West by 11:45 am for a brief rehearsal. In order to stay energized throughout this event, it is important that you bring a lunch and plenty of water. Please be on time!

♪      May 14 - Step up concert 7:00 pm. Please arrive in concert attire at Parkside at 6:30 pm.

♪      There are actually two Step Up concerts - one for orchestra on the 13th of May and band on the 14th of May.

♪      June 20 - Graduation Verizon Wireless Arena. Please arrive in concert attire at the VW Arena at 1:00 pm.

The West High Music supporters meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month, 7:15 p.m. in the high school band room, located at the corner of South Main and Hecker Streets. There are no meetings in July and August.

West High Music Supporters are parents, friends, and community members interested in supporting and enhancing the music students’ experiences at Manchester High School West. We also support our Color Guard, an integral component of our Marching Band.

As Music Supporters, we fundraise for student activities and supplement the budget for the purchase of music, event admission, equipment, and travel. We offer clerical and chaperone support. We provide a forum for communication regarding activities, schedules, and events. And we work to promote the students’ events and achievements in the community. While we depend upon our volunteers to achieve these objectives, volunteering is not necessary to come to our meetings or to become a member.

All attendees are welcome to come for information and to join in the discussion of business at hand. However, a decision for action or an outlay of funds is made by membership vote. For more information on becoming a member, go to MEMBERSHIP.

Community Support

There are many local organizations that help the West High Music Supporters. This help consists of donations of ice, bottled water, snacks and other food products. It also includes transportation of band equipment to events and use of equipment (e.g. cotton candy machine) in our fund raising activities. We thank these contributors to the 2008 – 2009 Manchester West High School, Music program.
